Where: The Bogardus Garden gate at Reade Street & Hudson Street

The Parks Department will be collecting Christmas trees to mulch for use in park gardens and street trees around the city. Please remember to remove the lights.

Rules of Use

The following park rules must be followed when using the Washington Market Park gazebo:

  • Alcoholic beverages and amplified music are not allowed in the park.
  • All garbage generated by your event must be removed from the park. Park staff will provide a broom and garbage bags if needed and will also advise where you may dispose of your garbage. Please allow sufficient time to leave the gazebo area clean.
  • Please do not use tape on the gazebo.  Balloons and decorations should be secured with string.
  • Two 6-foot tables and four chairs are available for events. Park staff will assist with furniture. We appreciate your help in returning them after your event.
  • The two picnic tables adjacent to the gazebo are not included in your gazebo reservation. Please allow other park visitors to use the picnic tables.
  • No admittance fees may be charged for your gazebo event in the park, and the use of the gazebo for any commercial enterprise (selling merchandise, promoting a private business venture, etc.) is prohibited without applying for and receiving a Vendor’s License from the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation.
  • Blankets, chairs and strollers are not permitted on the grass in Washington Market Park.
  • A tax-deductible donation of $100 is suggested for use of the gazebo.  You may use the Paypal button below to make your donation. When finalizing your payment via Paypal, please add ”gazebo donation” when you see the phrase  “add special intstructions to the seller”.   You may also give the gazebo coordinator a personal check made payable to “The Friends of Washington Market Park”.  Thank you!
