Sixty-eight pumpkins were entered to populate the park’s 2021 pumpkin patch along the iron fencing of Greenwich Street between Duane and Reade Streets.

The pumpkins were be judged in five categories: cutest, scariest, funniest, most creative and most realistic. There was also one overall winner and one overall runner-up.
You may pick-up your pumpkins the afternoon of the event OR let them spend the next few nights in the park for visitors to enjoy! Park staff will compost any remaining pumpkins next weekend.

CARVE IT, NAME IT, BRING IT!
Sponsored by The Friends of Washington Market Park, this is a free community event with trophies awarded in five categories: scariest, funniest, cutest, most realistic and most creative! Bring your own pumpkin to enter, or just stop by with your family to enjoy the festive display.
- Bring your carved pumpkin to Washington Market Park between 4:45pm and 5:30pm.
- No carving will be permitted at the event.
- Battery-operated candles will be provided for illumination.
- Judging will begin at 5:30pm, and the winners will be announced by 6pm.
Pumpkin entries may be taken home after the contest OR may be kept in the park overnight for display during the park’s annual Halloween party the following day, Sunday, October 29th, from 1-3pm. Should you choose to display your pumpkin, please claim it immediately after the party.
