About Washington Market Park

About the Park

Washington Market Park is Tribeca’s neighborhood park for relaxing, playing with the family and visiting with friends – one of the jewels of the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. The park includes a community garden, three playgrounds, a grand lawn, basketball courts, a tennis court, a butterfly garden, and a gazebo for hosting events and parties. There are comfort stations in the northwest corner.

HOURS

The park is open from 7am until dusk, seven days a week. Please note that during changes of season, the park staff may close the park slightly earlier than dusk while shifts adjust.

LOCATION

The park is at the corner of Greenwich and Chambers streets in Tribeca, with entrances at Greenwich and Duane streets and at the Borough of Manhattan Community College plaza. MAP

PARK STAFF

The NYC Parks Department staffs the park with workers who maintain and manage the park. The staff office is located to the left of the BMCC stairs, in the northwest corner of the park.

We would like to recognize award-winning NYC Parks gardener Richard Haugland for the outstanding work he does to plan and maintain the plantings, the lawn, and the structures that beautify our favorite park.
