Who We Are

Who We Are

The Friends of Washington Market Park is a non-profit neighborhood organization that produces free public events in the park and supports park restoration and improvements. Our events include concerts, planting days, movie nights, a Halloween parade and party and a pumpkin carving contest.

We are supported by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation as well as private contributions and donations. Opportunities exist for private citizens and corporations to sponsor an event, beautify the park, or support community programs. Contributions are fully tax-deductible and may be made as tributes, dedications or anonymous donations.

The organization is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and produces all its events with volunteer power and talent. The board meets nine times a year at the Downtown Community Center at 120 Warren Street. Email info@washingtonmarketpark.org for more information on meeting dates, donations or specific events.
