Gazebo
The Washington Market Park gazebo may be reserved for small events of less than 50 people through The Friends of Washington Market Park. Events with more than 50 people are allowed but require an additional permit issued through the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation (instructions included below).
The gazebo is available during normal park hours and may be reserved for a maximum of two hours. Set-up and clean-up must be done within the two-hour block allotted. The time slots are as follows:
10 a.m. to noon
1 to 3 p.m.
4 to 6 p.m.
To reserve the gazebo, please:
- Check the online gazebo calendar for available time slots.
- Email gazebo@washingtonmarketpark.org with your reservation request. Please include information about the type of event, your three choices for the date and time, and your anticipated number of attendees.
- If your event will have more than 50 attendees, you must apply for a Special Events Permit through the Parks Department. Please note that the permit generally takes six weeks to process and requires a non-refundable fee of $25.00.
Your email request will be answered within one week. Upon confirmation of an available date and time, you will receive instructions for downloading, signing and returning a contract to the Gazebo Coordinator to secure your reservation. A gazebo reservation is not considered confirmed until we have received your signed contract.
A tax-deductible donation of $100 is suggested for use of the gazebo. You may use the Paypal button below to make your donation. When finalizing your payment via Paypal, please add ”gazebo donation” when you see the phrase “add special intstructions to the seller”. You may also give the gazebo coordinator a personal check made payable to “The Friends of Washington Market Park”. Your donation helps our organization produce annual events in Washington Market Park, and we thank you!
School Parties: The gazebo coordinator will begin taking reservations as of March 1, 2011. Again, please note that events for more than 50 require an additional permit from the Parks Department.
