LAWN CLOSURE

The Parks Department re-sodded the lawn in early May, and it will reopen in June. Thank you for your understanding!

The Gazebo at Washington Market Park

The Gazebo may be reserved for small events of fewer than 50 people through The Friends of Washington Market Park. All reservations are made on a first come, first served basis.

The Gazebo is available during normal park hours and may be reserved for a maximum of two hours. Set-up and clean-up must be done within the two-hour block allotted.

A donation of $200 is suggested for use of the Gazebo. All donations are tax-deductible and help to fund free community events as well as beautification projects in Washington Market Park.

Events with more than 50 people are allowed but require a Special Events Permit from the NYC Parks Department.

Please read the Gazebo terms and conditions here.

To request a gazebo reservation, please click a date below and complete the form.

*Please note our lawn area will be closed for annual re-sodding during the months of April-May.  Our lawn usually opens during the beginning of June, but no definite date has been determined as of yet.

I understand that access to the park lawn cannot be guaranteed during my Gazebo event.

I understand a donation of $200 is suggested for use of the gazebo. This funds free community events and/or improvements at Washington Market Park.

Once you have clicked the send button for the form, you will receive an email from our volunteer Gazebo Coordinator within seven days.

If your event is approved and you will have more than 50 guests, you must then apply for a Special Events Permit from the NYC Parks Department. This Parks permit can take up to six weeks to process.

As mentioned, a donation of $200 is suggested for use of the Gazebo, and all donations are tax-deductible. You may use the Paypal button below to make your donation. Please denote “gazebo donation” when you see the phrase “add special instructions to the seller”.
