Welcome to Washington Market Park

Washington Market Park is Tribeca’s neighborhood park for relaxing, playing with the kids and visiting with friends. The park includes a basketball court and tennis court, a community garden and a gazebo for hosting events and parties. The park is open from 7 a.m. to dusk, seven days a week.

The Friends of Washington Market Park is a non-profit neighborhood organization that produces free public events in the park and supports park restoration and improvements. Our events include the summer concert series, spring and fall planting days for children, a Halloween parade and party, as well as seasonal parties throughout the year.

Compost collection has come to Tribeca!

GrowNYC is running a pilot program to expand current food scrap collections from NYC households at select Greenmarkets.  This means you and your Tribeca neighbors can bring your food scraps to the Tribeca Greenmarket every Saturday between 8am and 1pm!

What types of food scraps are usable in compost? Accepted materials include fruit and vegetable scraps, non-greasy food scraps (rice, pasta, bread, cereal etc.), coffee grounds and filters, tea bags, egg and nut shells, pits, cut or dried flowers, houseplants and potting soil.

Food scraps dropped at the Tribeca Greenmarket will be composted into a soil additive that will nourish street trees, gardens and more — instead of wasting away in landfills.

Please consider participating and spreading the word! Visit www.grownyc.org/compost to learn more.
